SkyHigh Retrievers - Professional Retriever Training

Mike and Tiffany Taylor produce dogs with style, enthusiasm, and the confidence to make difficult retrieves and hunt in thick cover. We do this by giving your dog one-on-one time, fair and consistent training, and adapting to your dog's unique personality. We combine fresh ideas with tried-and-true practices. Our retriever training programs are based on being flexible and adapting to the dog's training level, talent, and temperament. This helps create an enthusiastic and happy dog with a strong foundation of training.

We believe every bird dog, whether a competition retriever or an upland or waterfowl hunter, should be trained on birds through the bulk of their training. The best bird dogs are trained on birds, and lots of them. We provide custom training for each and every retriever, as well as specializing in pointing Labradors and hunting Golden retrievers. We believe that with fair and consistent training, every retriever can reach their full potential. Training for Competitions We train Hunt Test retrievers to be confident, watery, and to love what they do. We train through attrition, so they always run confidently and with style.

Gun Dog Training We train pointing Labs, waterfowl, and upland retrievers. No matter what type of hunting you do, your dog should work with you, be confident, and eager to hunt.

Training Grounds We are building our new training facility in Othello, WA, three hours east of Seattle and an hour and a half west of Spokane, Washington.

Professional, custom training is offered by Mike and Tiffany Taylor. Mike Taylor has worked for noted dog trainer Doug Shade at Minoggie Kennels training hunting dogs. Mike has also worked alongside Patti Kiernan, who is a noted professional AKC Field Trial retriever trainer. Most recently, Mike and Tiffany trained pointing Labs, hunting Golden retrievers, and Headstart puppies at Trieven-Sungold Kennel. Tiffany works side-by-side with Mike giving a different perspective on the training and teaching your dog to respond to a feminine personality. SkyHigh Retrievers travels to sunny California during the winter months, January - April. This gives your dog the unique opportunity to be worked on water no matter what time of year it is. This is a great program for a young duck dog ready to go into training, or for a competition dog continuing their water work.
